New Famitsu Scans

The new famitsu scans give are packed full of new in game images. They give a more detailed look at some of the new stages, as well has a better look at some of the returning characters new outfits. There is also new concept art for Ivy and Mitsurugi in the scans.


Project Soul Updated

The project soul page has had a minor update. An Offical Soul Calibur IV page has been added. At the moment it contains nothing more than a few details about the game, as well as the teaser trailer released previously on the 12th.

The article reveals that stages will be more interactive this time around, as well as larger to reduce the rate of ringouts. It has also been announced that there will be a new way to ring out your opponent that doesn't involve the health gauage or ring outs. The level of detail in the game is impressive for instance, the straps on Ivy's leg will make real-time indentations into her skin as she fights and Taki's nipples will be rendered underneath her outfit.


Soul Calibur IV Goes Online

"What's changed this time round is that the next-gen platforms have network infrastructure already in place," says Soulcalibur IV Director Katsutoshi Sasaki. "We've heard from fans that they really want the game to be online, so we figured that, with the current environment, we really couldn't make SC4 without online play."

Score one for gamers. But, with the introduction of create-a-character in Soul Calibur III and its assured revamping in Soulcalibur IV, will these customizations go to waste? "We definitely want to allow users to fight with their customized characters during online play. But we're unsure whether or not you'll be able to trade characters with friends."


1800p support for SC IV?

"Hoshino fielded a question about 1080p support for the game. Bandai Namco is currently looking into including support for the high resolution mode. However, Hoshino feels that one area of the visuals must be maintained: sixty frames per second animation."


First Look at SCIV - Teaser Trailer

It has been confirmed that SCIV is scheduled to be released in 2008, for both PS3 and XBOX 360. Ivy, Nightmare and Mitsurugi are all confirmed to be returning characters.
